the willpower diet
I am back on a diet, having shot up to nearly 200 lbs over the holidays, up from my low of 188.
Dieting is very easy. You don't need a book, a guru, a pill, or gastric bypass. You need only use some willpower.
I know I eat too much. My calorie intake had gone up to sometimes as much as 2500-3000 calories a day. So I simply cut myself back to 1500 calories a day, which is about 500 less than I would need to maintain my current weight. No amount of "genetics" can combat the fact that if I don't put enough fuel into my body, it is forced to use its own fat to subsist.
After nearly two weeks, I have lost 3 lbs. I have not been trying to exercise too much, focusing solely on the food for now. As my weight approaches a more appropriate level, I will begin to increase my food intake, and combine that with more exercise.
